Part of treating myself well involves how I eat. I eat out several times during the week but my best meals are consumed at home and alone. I set a table for one and I enjoy my time with myself. I have said this before and I cannot help it. I don’t need to help it.
There is something spiritual and sensual about preparing a meal for myself. I love the peace that it brings. My mind quiets and my heart rate slows. My shoulders relax from their usual position pulled up around my ears. All my stress melts away.
Slicing carrots and fennel.
Halving lemon and garlic.
Breathing in the aroma of a fistful of fresh thyme.
The pepper & salt.
The olive oil and butter.
